There are so many reasons why I enjoy writing. At first it was only a hobby and something I decided to do suddenly in November 2009, and now I have found myself developing further with the plots and characters that I create.
Marinette (Nessy) is half vampire and half human flees her maker Hervidor, the strongest of their kind and the ruler of the underworld of vampires. As Nessy flees to be able to live her life as she chooses, her vengeance for the coven Hervidor created, The Tellis coven rises to the surface as she ventures into unknown parts of life that she has never seen or experienced. Hervidor has kept Nessy locked away for centuries, his taunting and those tauntings of his coven have made Nessy stronger and one day capable of fleeing his grasp. As she runs through the unknown woods with her thirst on high alert she meets Charles and his coven, their ways and teachings of the new world that Nessy hasn’t seen before are shocking and exciting to Nessy who quickly learns to adjust and adapt so she can easily walk among humans during both day and night. Nessy quickly falls in love with Charles and they seal the bond that will capture and seal them together for eternity, their love being sealed and both of them finding their mate to walk the earth for as long as either one of them shall survive the passage of time and the changes it brings. With the threat of Hervidor constantly at their heels and Nessy trying to run and making that final decision to stand and face him in the fight that will decide her fate, the Gulon and their own pack of cats become involved Heracio (Hera) is Nessy’s biological cousin and decides to impart to Nessy the many family traits she wasn’t aware off as a human, her own self discovery becomes apparent as she too transforms into the Gulon creature. As the biggest and strongest of the Gulon and long ago destined to become their leader, Nessy hands over the reins of the leadership back to Hera, claiming the ownership is his by mutual right, mutual consent and adoration of his pack. As Nessy tries to come to terms with the changes happening to her and around her, she continues to slide on the path of love, together Charles, his coven and Nessy make the final stand against Hervidor and the detested Tellis coven to banish them from the earth but will they succeed in banishing Hervidor and his coven?
Moon Rising (Book 2)Nessy wakes from her unconscious state to find she can no longer remember who she is or her purpose in life. Charles battles to try and tell her as much information as he can about her former life, and eventually submits to telling Nessy her true immortal state.Hera takes Nessy back to the past in the form of the Gulon, where she meets the other Gulon packs who have come to aid them while the covens have gathered hoping to glimpse their new queen and ruler of the underworld, little does Nessy realise that person is her!The continuing threat from the detested sinister Tellis coven fight back with the remaining members and they join forces with another coven that have long since been known for their massacres and barbaric ways for feeding.
Nessy has to battle to protect the human race from extinction and to protect her title for the good of races, the immortal race and the mortals that surround her, with Charles and the Gulon they must succeed.
Moon Rising (Book 3)Nessy’s spiritual sojourn continues as the good and the bad, the animal and the human clash – one side vying for supremacy over the other. Nessy’s will power and bravery win as she stands and chooses the right path.
With Charles, the Eaves coven, and the Gulons working and fighting alongside Nessy to discover the mystery surrounding the strange happenings around them in their quiet village, together they must stand and face the evil force to maintain the balance of their world. The Gulons bring forth their own heritage and legends changing the direction they’ve been ruling and protecting the humans, bringing Nessy back into their safe harness and their co-existence with the vampire race. The pressure is on for all involved, the covens are forceful, the Gulons are powerful, Nessy is strong willed and finds herself thrown into the dark world along with the unknown attacked evil force that no one has known to exist, until now.

Great giveaway! I’m curious where Laurie gets her inspiration from, and whether any of her characters are based on herself or someone she knows?
I wish you much continued success, Laurie!

Hi Darlene,
The majority of my inspiration comes from the real people that I meet. There is always something someone says or does that makes me think of a storyline and its then down to my imagination to fill the holes and complete another book.
I wish you loads of luck with the give away.

Thanks for the awesome giveaway. I have never read any of your books or series but I would like to. They sound very good. What made you decide to be a writer? Tore923@aol.com
Aug 21, 2011 @ 12:03:23
Hi tore923,
Thank you for entering and dropping by.
I had no aspirations to become a writer, it all started in November 2009 and I found that I’d read tons of books. One morning I woke up and decided to write my own story, and so I did and it was then published. Shortly afterwards, I found I enjoyed writing, creating and using my imagination that I kept on going and now I am fortunate enough to have 27 titles published and with 6 more on their way.

Here are the Laurie Bowler’s answers to your questions! 🙂
________________________________________________
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I loved creating a different world, new dimensions to every world that I created, and bringing in new creatures purely using my imagination to create them, their abilities and the sorts of skills that they possess. This was the greatest fun I’ve had while writing a book/.
Where do you write?
When I’m writing I tend to write at on the edge of the arm of the settee, with the TV on and there’s got to be a good film in the background, its only then I’m comfortable enough to be able to switch off the background noise and become entirely engrossed with my stories. Either that or I take my laptop to bed and I write in my room, again with the TV on and I can relax and have some serious imaginative time with my stories.
What’s your favorite thing about your book?
Bringing together witches and vampires and creating new species and new worlds, it was brilliant when I first thought of the idea.
What authors do you admire?
I’ve always been an avid reader and fan of Virginia Andrews and Danielle Steele since I was a child, it was their books I’d be sat in a corner reading while my siblings watched TV. I was always the bookworm and I never had much time for TV before and to be honest I still don’t, I like it on in the background but I don’t take much notice in anything that’s happening on the screen, my writing takes my entire concentration.
What place that you haven’t visited would you like to go?
I’ve seen so many pictures on facebook etc of America that I’ve developed a wish to visit and spend some time there, I’m planning on saving really hard to make it happen, although I like the look of almost every state I’ve seen pictures off, that its going to be really hard to decide where to visit and where to stay.
If you could ask your readers one question, what would it be?
If you could choose a vampire that you’ve read about to be favourite, who would it be? And why?
7.Do you plot or do you write by the seat of your pants?
My stories have never had a plot or characters pre written, I just go with the flow and create as I go along. Every story has been created like this, and I am pleased with the way my stories are coming across to readers.
How long have you been writing?
I started writing in November 2009, I literally decided one day to start writing a book and I found I enjoyed the process and so I didn’t stop. Every week I’m thinking of new ideas, so many that I can barely have the time between stories to write about them but I keep them written down to come back too.
If you have a day job, what is it
During the day I’m a teacher to adults in the Health and Social care sector, I teach adults to gain a qualification in the area they wish to work which in this case is the care industry. During the day I meet so many different people of many ages, it’s a lot of fun and hard work.
What do you do when you are not writing?
When I’m not writing I love to spend time with my little girl, she is my angel and I don’t write until she is in bed, that way I know I’ve devoted my time with her and she is happy. My little girls happiness is incredibly important to me.

First I’d like to say congratulations on your success!! I find it absolutely amazing that you just woke up one day and decided to write. 🙂 I LOVE to read and I’ve always wanted to write and your success gives hope. I personally haven’t read any of your books yet, but I have been reading overviews and personal reviews and just purchased “Serena Embracing Darkness” for my nook and plan on starting it later on tonight. This is an awesome giveaway and thank you for your time.

Well I’ve honestly never heard of Laurie, all her books before, but this certainly has piqued my interest! I’ll have to add them to my (incredibly long!) list of books to read, and keep an eye out for them next time I’m book hunting!

Hi Laurie,
I’ll be honest I had never heard of you before a fellow bookworm recommended that I check out your novels. You have an amazing talent, I’d love to be able to write, but instead I’ll be content with just reading all of the fantastic work that you and the many other talented writers produce for me. Keep up the good work.

These stories look great! I would love to be able to read one.
My question is: Where does the author do her research on vampires to make sure that what she is writing works? I find it fascinating the creativity that new authors have
