review

Ignite Me was going to have to live up to some serious hype. Not only did I love the first two books, but I needed this book to be amazing. Thank goodness Tahereh Mafi didn’t disappoint. This book was everything I hoped for, and I loved every second of it. I read it all in one sitting, because I just couldn’t put it down.

Juliette really comes into her own in this book, and I loved seeing her take those huge leaps in her personal beliefs. She finally started to believe that she was worth something, and we got to know her on a new level. She realized that she was going to be the catalyst for the revolution, and that they needed her. I loved when she realized that she didn’t break out of Re-establishment for Adam, that she did it for herself and that she was never going back.

Adam was a jerk in this book, and I loved him in the first installment Shatter Me. However by the end of the second book Unravel Me I knew that we were going to see a meltdown of epic proportions. It was wonderful to see the author create these multi-dimensional characters. Adam was a good person, but he did not want a strong Juliette. It made me proud of Juliette that she actually saw that in this final book. It made her aware of the people around her who just wanted her to be herself.

Warner just melted and broke my heart in this book. I knew that he cared about Juliette, but I never realized just how much. There were times when his steadfast refusal to acknowledge her because he was hurt made me exasperated. It was understandable though, but I had hoped he would see that she needed time. Juliette had so much to realize about herself, and to realize that she didn’t need to settle for the one person who could touch her.

This book was the perfect conclusion to the series, and there isn’t a single thing I would change. There were moments when I was upset, angry, and emotional, but it was perfect. I couldn’t have expected what came in this book, but it ended better than I could have hoped for. I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars, and I cannot wait to see what Tahereh Mafi has in store for us next!
