Cain and Abel from Angel Kin: Top 5 Songs for Sibling Rivalries

By Tricia Skinner

If you’ve never tried to catch two half-angel/half-human assassins for a blog post, then you have no idea what I had to go through to corner Cain and Abel from my novel, Angel Kin. Not only are they on opposite sides of the battle between Heaven’s ruling board and the fallen angels known as Renegades, the twins have serious family issues.

Still, when Moonlight Gleam offered me a guest post spot, I begged and threatened (not a smart move) until each brother somewhat relented. I’ll let my characters introduce their five songs for sibling rivalries.

Cain: Listen up. I’m only doing this sh*t because my girl, Katie, is into music. The band she manages, Collapsed Star, kicks ass, but some of these aren’t half bad.

Tricia: Hey, Cain, you can’t curse on the blog.

Cain: What the hell?

Tricia: Sorry. No bad words, okay? I want readers to check out your book so be good.

Cain: I’m an a-s-s-a-s-s-i-n. If they want a saint, tell them to track down that adopted father of mine. Tanis loves that Boy Scout crap. (pause) Fine. Let me just get to the music. My songs for dealing with brainwashed, shoulda-stayed-dead, evil twin brothers are:

Unkle – Eye for An Eye

Les Friction – World On Fire

Kongos – Come With Me Now

Now, Abel was difficult to track down. Our conversation went…badly.

Tricia: Can I post your comments on Moonlight Gleam?

Abel: No.

Tricia: I need to give them something. Would you answer some questions about you and your brother?

Abel: No.

Tricia: Can you send me a couple of songs for the post?

Abel: Done. Now go away, or I’ll kill you.

Skrillex – Kill Everybody (Bare Noize Remix)

Sick Puppies – War

While channeling Robin Hood’s “steal from the rich and give to the poor” attitude at a local politician’s house, ex-con Katie Logan witnesses a forced suicide. Dirty or not, supernatural or not, he didn’t deserve to die, especially not by his own hand. But with her record, stepping forward as a witness isn’t an option. On the run from the police and the murderer, she turns to The Bound Ones for help.

When a beautiful woman comes to The Bound Ones, half-angel assassin Cain is immediately drawn to her. But when she fingers him as the killer, he can come to only one conclusion. The twin he thought was dead is very much alive…and trying to send him a message. Unfortunately, that message is: “You’re next.”  It’s a race against time as Cain fights to save the woman he’s falling in love with before his brother Abel destroys them both.
