Dust to Dust by Karina Halle Review

Title: Dust to Dust Author: Karina Halle Publisher: Metal Blonde Books Format: eBook Publication Date: August 11, 2014  Overall: 5 out 5 stars Source: Purchased

The dramatic conclusion to the Experiment in Terror Series.

Perry Palomino and Dex Foray.

On their own, they’re uniquely brilliant. Together, they’re an unstoppable team.

Until now.

Because after everything the duo has encountered, they haven’t come across an evil quite like this. An evil that has been years in the making, an evil that will stop at nothing until they, and everyone they care for, are destroyed.

Dex and Perry’s love has survived a multitude of sins.

But can it survive the end?

So I know that I’m reviewing a Karina Halle book every couple of months, but I just can’t help it. I think she is one of the best indie writers out there. She has been able to tackle multiple genre’s and do them justice. I literally read her entire Experiment in Terror series within a week. If you’re looking for an author that’s a little bit different but constantly surprising, please check her out.

Dust to Dust was a great finish to EIT. I wanted Perry and Dex to get their version of happily ever after and they definitely did but only after scaring the pants off me and breaking my heart. This book was everything I hoped it would be and a few things I didn’t, but I loved every minute of it.

I liked that in this book we saw a hit of a role reversal between Perry and Dex. It was awesome to see Perry step into her big girl shoes and be the strong woman I always knew she was. I loved that she was confident in her relationship, and for once her confidence issues seemed to mostly be gone. This was great to read as low-self-esteemPerry! was getting a old.

The scary part of this book was terrifying. I was stupid and was finishing this at 3 o’clock in the morning. Needless to say I didn’t fall asleep easily, and was very jumpy.

We also got to see some characters come into their own, and this was the part of the book that broke my heart. As a mom I can relate to Perry’s mom, Ingrid. You want what is best for your kids and seeing ghosts just doesn’t scream stability. So it was wonderful to see her finally open up to her kids. Maximus finally started to act like the Maximus I knew he was(oh I remember you in Devil’s Reprise).

This was a great finish for this series, and while not everything was wrapped up that’s okay because it mostly had to do with Perry’s sister Ada, and she’s getting her own series! Needless to say the book is getting 5 out of 5 stars, and I highly recommend not only Dust to Dust but the entire series. It’s perfect for anyone who likes slow romance and paranormal mysteries!
