Evelyn Hardcastle will die. Every day until Aiden Bishop can identify her killer and break the cycle. But every time the day begins again, Aiden wakes up in the body of a different guest. And some of his hosts are more helpful than others…

The most inventive debut of the year twists together a mystery of such unexpected creativity it will leave readers guessing until the very last page.

This was a superbly written murder mystery. We start by waking up with Aiden Bishop who is inhabiting someone else’s body and doesn’t quite know who he is. Aiden then body hops over the course of the next 8 days to find out who murdered Evelyn Hardcastle. This book definitely took on an Agatha Christie feel especially once the first few chapters were over. It did at times get tedious and was hard to push through. There was so much exposition and explanation that both Aiden and the readers need. It just made it really difficult to care about the mysteries since so much of it was relayed through telling instead of showing. The writing and prose was fantastic but the pacing was odd and uneven. Sometimes it felt like things were moving very quickly and then there would a 5-10 chapter stretch where it felt like the book was going nowhere.I did like the twist and turns and at the end, there was quite a bit that I didn’t see coming but at the same time it felt unnecessarily convoluted. It was more complicated than it needed to be, there was the twist, then the second twist, then the third twist, and then like a half twist? It was just too many for my tastes and was incredibly hard to keep track of. I did enjoy it and overall I would say it was an enjoyable read but I do think there were aspects that could be pared down and that would make the overall experience more enjoyable. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

3.5/5 – A Great Read, Well-Written
